DOWNLOAD RULESMemorials purchased through Sikeston Memorial Park will be set by cemetery staff. If you notice any shifting or settling, cemetery personnel will adjust. If in the sole opinion of cemetery, it is deemed necessary upon request by family.
If ordering through an outside company, there is a layout and inspection fee that must be paid in full before installation can take place. If you notice any shifting or settling the installation company will be responsible for adjustments upon your request to them. Sikeston Memorial Park can adjust for a fee. No memorial delivery will be accepted unless there are prior arrangements made with the cemetery.
All graves are kept level, when possible. No raised mounds or trenches are allowed around the graves.
Upright and slanted memorials are allowed only in Sikeston Memorial Park Section 1, Section 3, 2 East, 2 West, Single East, Single West, and Traditional West. All other gardens require flat bronze on granite memorials
Please understand that from time to time we do have to move memorials to dig other graves or do maintenance in the area, this is done to protect your memorial while allowing access to others property.
Vases must be on the memorial. Vases and memorials are subject to damage when covered by snow, or by water freezing and causing the vase to crack. The cemetery is not responsible for these damages or damages by windstorms, frost, hail, thieves, vandals, or other causes not due to its own account.
No objects may be placed upon a grave that will obstruct lawn mowers in the mowing season. Trinkets, toys, urns, images, glass of any kind, candles, or other similar items are not permitted on the graves or lots. Also, wire screens, arbors, trellises, iron or wooden crosses, shepherd hooks, solar lights or similar items are not permitted on graves or lots. Any items that interfere with safety and maintenance are NOT allowed and will be removed and discarded immediately without notice. We do not remove or store decorations, or vases.
Artificial wreaths, flowers, Christmas greens, or other coverings may be placed after November 1st and removed before February 1st. It is up to the families to remove items. Anything not removed by February 1st will be disposed of by cemetery staff.
Please make sure all artificial flowers are placed in vases and not on the ground. The wires can be dangerous when mowing. Fresh cut flowers may be placed on the graves throughout the year. Floral items, fresh and artificial, will be removed from graves as soon as they become faded and unsightly.
Flags are permitted in vases, next to or close to a memorial but may be removed when they become unsightly or unable to mow around.
Cemetery management strictly prohibits the picking of flowers, breaking, or damaging trees, plants, or shrubs. No planting of trees or plants by anyone other than the cemetery personnel. Our cemeteries will not be responsible for items on graves or memorials that are damaged or stolen, however, if a person or persons are caught in the act of stealing, vandalizing, or desecrating anything located within our cemeteries, they will be reported to local police.
The grave spaces of loved ones are precious and cherished. Therefore, parking is restricted to pavement or gravel roads. Please do not park in the grass or on graves. Visitation of graves is not allowed after dark and is considered trespassing.
Only burial space(s) that are paid for in full will be allowed to have interments and memorials set.
Cemetery management reserves the right to delay the opening or closing of a grave due to inclement weather.
Temporary markers are temporary. They will be allowed on the grave site for up to 30 days after a burial. Funeral flowers may be placed on the grave after ceremony however they will be removed after 2 weeks depending on the conditions of the flowers and outside elements.
